What types of agencies and organizations can use SPIRIT?

The SPIRIT software is a private application available  to state and local agencies, collaborating community service providers such as substance abuse treatment, mental health services and homeless coalitions that deal with the welfare of individuals, youth and families.

What can SPIRIT do that existing case management systems cannot?

SPIRIT bridges the gap among state agencies, local community services and organizations, and youth, families and adults by facilitating the authorized sharing of secure information at an unprecedented level. SPIRIT offers real-time referral matching of clients to available treatment and service providers displaying available capacity and locations.  All authorized parties can instantly track updates related to individual client progress.

What types of security measures are in place to protect confidential information?

SPIRIT does not store data on any devices and all data transmissions meet or exceed national security and privacy standards.  Full encryption and firewalls ensure the protection of confidential data with multiple data point segmentation of all information.

How is information protected from access by other system users?

All data entered by users of the system can be designated as private or public.  The authority to allow others to view any data follows the policies and procedures of the agency(s) entering the data.  This feature is granular – down to the individual data points to ensure total privacy.  Each service provider also controls access to specific data points within their organization.

How can referring parties ensure that the selected service providers can address the specific needs of the youth?

The system filters and matches the specific needs of each client to the exact services of providers. This eliminates referrals of clients to incompatible service providers.  The system carefully considers age, gender, language, immediate needs, risk factors, interests, and client location in order to provide the best possible matches for treatment available within the community. The system also has features for tracking client progress to ensure that clients are getting the proper assistance.

How is progress tracked and measured?

The system has a detailed tracking and reporting component for pulling statistics from each data point that is collected.   The system will be able to generate reports for evaluation and service improvement within different provider networks and organizations.  SPIRIT also has multiple assessments available that are used nationally or, it can custom develop a local assessment to collect the data required for reports, analytics and performance measures.  There also is a survey provision component that allows parents, youths, service providers or a referring agency to input their satisfaction levels of progress of their treatment plans.
